What can I do if it doesn’t work?

We understand that some of you may be experiencing difficulties with the effectiveness of the FilterCube. Here are five steps that can help you optimize the use of the FilterCube and improve the water quality in your horses’ troughs:

1. Check the pH Level of the Water:

The FilterCube works best in a neutral pH range (between 6.5 and 8.5). A simple pH test strip can help determine the current level. If the pH is too high or too low, you can adjust the water using household remedies like vinegar or baking soda.

2. Use Baking Soda:

A popular home remedy is to sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on the FilterCube. This can help stabilize the pH level of the water and enhance the adsorption capacity of the filter. Experiment with the amount of baking soda to achieve the best results.

3. Regularly Clean the Trough:

To ensure optimal performance of the FilterCube, the trough should be cleaned regularly. Remove algae, mud, and other debris before placing the FilterCube in the water for the best results.

4. Proper Placement of the FilterCube:

The FilterCube should be able to float freely in the water and not be wedged at the bottom of the trough or under objects. This allows the entire surface of the filter to be utilized and maximizes its cleaning performance.

5. Regular Replacement and Maintenance of the FilterCube:

Replace the FilterCube regularly and maintain it according to the tips on our Tips & Tricks page. Rinse it under running water to remove accumulated impurities, and let it dry before reinserting it.

By following these steps, you can optimize the effectiveness of the FilterCube and ensure that your horses always have access to clean and healthy water.
