Even standing water isn’t really still; it constantly circulates, especially on a microscopic level. Due to the laws of thermodynamics, water is always in motion, and this very movement enables the FilterCube to purify the water effectively. This effect is further enhanced by the horses drinking.


The FilterCube is made of activated carbon, which has the property of binding certain contaminants and thus filtering them. This process is called adsorption. It filters algae and bacteria from the water before they can multiply.

5 Tips for Optimal Use of the FilterCube +

1. Initial Cleaning of the Trough: Before using the FilterCube, thoroughly clean the trough to achieve the best results.

2. Use of Protective Fleece: Always use the FilterCube with the included protective fleece to maintain its structure and extend its lifespan.

3. Check Water Quality: Since much happens on a microscopic level, the water should generally be changed every 14 days. This helps avoid the need for water tests and maintains hygiene.

4. Regular Rinsing of the Filter: Rinse the FilterCube under running water every 7-10 days to remove accumulated contaminants and maintain filtration performance.

5. Proper Placement: Ensure the FilterCube can float freely in the water and is not wedged or blocked, so the entire surface can be used for filtration.

How to Care for the FilterCube +

The water in your troughs stays fresh for up to 14 days with the FilterCube. After that, we recommend changing the water to ensure the best possible water quality. Every 7 to 10 days, you should remove the FilterCube from the trough, thoroughly clean it under running water, and then allow it to dry completely.


With proper care, the FilterCube can be used for several months without any issues. Once the filter is full, the cube will naturally disintegrate on its own!
